TOWN OF KILLINGTON
Companies Sign On for Fourth Year as Presenting Sponsor of Summer Concerts
Killington, VT — The Town of Killington has sealed a deal with Long Trail Brewing Company to renew its sponsorship of the town’s signature summer concert series for the fourth consecutive year. The renewed alliance with the environmentally-friendly Vermont craft beer maker makes Long Trail Brewing the presenting sponsor of the popular Cooler in the Mountains concert series. The announcement came this week from Killington Town Manager Seth Webb.
This year’s concert series lineup featured headliners Martin Sexton and Donavon Frankenreiter, and drew large crowds to Killington Resort’s Roaring Brook Umbrella Bars. The 2014 Cooler in the Mountains concert series will again feature five weeks of free shows beginning in July and running through August. Concerts are scheduled from 4 to 6pm, and are often scheduled concurrently with other major events, such as the Biggest Loser RunWalk, the Eastern States Cup mountain bike competitions, and more.
“We are thrilled to welcome Long Trail Brewing Company back as the presenting sponsor of our concerts series,” says Amy Morrison, events & marketing coordinator for the Town of Killington’s Department of Economic Development and Tourism. “Long Trail’s support over the last three summers has provided a significant boost in attendance to our calendar of events, and we’re excited to see the momentum continue.”
According to Killington Town Manager Seth Webb, the partnership with Long Trail Brewing Company plays a critical role in furthering the Town’s economic development goals. “Long Trail is an ideal partner, and their support has resulted in an increase in visitors and revenues during July, August and September. We’ve seen sustained growth over the last three years, and we think this summer is going to be better than ever. ”
Ryan Chaffin, Director of Marketing for Farrell Distributing echoed the Town’s enthusiasm stating, “Farrell Distributing has deep ties to Vermont, and are deeply committed to supporting the people and communities around us, and are thrilled to partner with the Town of Killington.” Farrell has been a partner with the Long Trail Brewing Company for over 24 years, supporting them and representing them statewide.
Long Trail’s participation as the concerts presenting sponsor has provided a boost to the town’s calendar during the summer months, supporting the Selectboard’s strategic plan to increase year-round tourism. During 2013’s Cooler in the Mountains concert series, Long Trail helped to bring over 6,000 people to Killington, generating visits to Killington throughout July and August.
