Welcome To The Green Mountains Stony Creek Brewery

Welcome To The Green Mountains Stony Creek Brewery

January 2, 2017| Categories: Beer Tasting, Events, News

The fusion of clean, bold, and aggressive West Coast
flavors and East Coast balance and drinkability.

We call this “Aggressively Laid-Back Beer.”

We gotta tell ya – we are super stoked to be working with this brewery! And to be working with our good friend Jamal Robinson again who is a very good friend to the beer industry.  Everything from the branding to the beer itself is right on point and we think our fellow Vermonter’s are really gonna dig it! Starting this week we are rolling out some core items and you can expect more offerings in the coming months.

ABOUT THE BREWERY

Located in Branford, Connecticut, Stony Creek Brewery believes this is the time for Connecticut craft beer. And our small, ambitious team is doing their part to contribute creative, high-quality beers that inspire people across the region, and invest in a bright future for the state.

Our modern brewery is a sight to be seen, with a stunning indoor/outdoor taproom, game pit, dock access, and a first-hand look at our canning and bottling lines right from the taproom.

Our team is a mix of ambitious and dedicated local residents, working alongside some of the industry’s most talented transplants that now call Connecticut their home. Together, we aim to make the best, highest-quality beer in the region, and introduce new craft beer drinkers to flavors that are both familiar and new.

INITIAL OFFERINGS IN VERMONT

  • BIG CRANKY – A Bold West Coast Double IPA, this is the crankiest of our IPAs. 7 different hops contribute complex and juicy hop character. Its dry finish allows the hops to stand out. At 9.5% ABV and 95 IBUs, while remarkably cranky, this beer is extraordinarily drinkable. Look out for 16 oz cans and draft beer at your favorite watering hole. big-cranky-sell-sheet-copy

  • LITTLE CRANKY – Aggressive, yet crafted to go down easy, this Session IPA has it all. Lemon Drop and Bravo hops lend a fruity hop complexity with Lemon and Orange Highlights. At 4.5% ABV and 50 IBUs this beer is just a little bit cranky. Look out for 12 oz cans and draft beer at your favorite watering hole. lil-cranky-ipa-sell-sheet-copy

  • SNOW HOLE – A Snowhole is someone who loves a brutal winter. Our Double Red, with its malty notes of caramel and dark sugar, is complemented perfectly by intense citrus and spicy hops. 6 different hops, 8 hop additions, over 3.5 pounds of hops per barrel, 8.5% ABV and 85 IBUs make for a winter brew that can stand up to any storm. Look out for 6 pack bottles and draft beer at your favorite watering hole.

  • STONY JOE – Stony Joe is a Golden Mocha Stout. It is designed like a traditional Milk Stout but without using the typical roasted dark malts. Instead we use a boat load of rich, decadent golden colored English barley, flaked barley, flaked oats, and flaked wheat to give it lush body and smooth sweetness. We then ferment it on Cocoa Nibs and add fresh locally roasted Guatemalan Coffee, directly to the fermenter. The cocoa nibs and coffee add the rich mocha notes and bright roasty/coffee aroma you might typically find in a stout. We are excited to partner with Redding Roasters Coffee Company of Bethel, CT on this mind bending beer. Look out for draft only on this one.
