SERVING VERMONT WITH QUALITY BEVERAGES and SNACKS

We proudly provide high-quality beer, wine, non-alcoholic beverages, and snacks to retailers throughout the Green Mountain State. With facilities in both South Burlington and Rutland, and a large workforce, we are equally equipped to cater to the needs of different types of retailers – from national corporations, to large and small independent stores, to fine dining establishments. We are pleased to be able to bring variety, value and choice to our customers, regardless of their location.

Farrell Distributing Grows Together

Throughout our long history, we have always believed in giving back to our community and partnering with local organizations to help those in need. This is a commitment shared by all our team members and is fueled by our deep connection to Vermont and the desire to be good stewards of our state.

The core strength of our organization is our incredible community of over 300 hundred teammates. Their hard work and dedication to serving our customers is what makes us successful. As an employer, we are dedicated to their well-being, creating a welcoming workplace and fostering a sense of family.

Our Staff

1934

A Legacy of Vermont Distribution

We are a fourth-generation Vermont family business with a strong commitment to serving our customers, our employees and our community. Thomas A. Farrell and several of his brothers founded M.M. Farrell & Sons in a small warehouse on Pine Street in Burlington, becoming the first licensed distributor in Vermont after Prohibition.

1980

Expanding and Growing

The company eventually moved to East Allen Street in Winooski, and then in 1980 to our current location on Holmes Road in South Burlington. As the company expanded, Farrell Distributing opened additional facilities in Montpelier and Rutland.

In 2000, the Montpelier facility merged with the South Burlington operation.

2015

Craft and Premium Beverage Leadership

On November 30th, 2015 we welcomed over 60 new employees as part of the Brand Distribution Agreement between Farrell and g.housen of Vermont. As we welcomed these new team members, our philosophy remains the same: Quality, Service and Community

In May 2016 we completed a major renovation project at our South Burlington facility, increasing our overall square footage, increased climate-controlled zones and much needed new office space.

Today

Building With Every Distribution

Our latest acquisition of new brands took place in February of 2024 with the Brand Distribution Agreement between Farrell and Craft Vermont during which time we welcomed 24 additional Craft Beer, Cider, Hard Kombucha, RTD, and nonalcoholic partners to our family of brands. Additionally, to ensure support of our total portfolio, we on-boarded 12 new employees most of whom had previously worked for Craft Vermont.
