Sept 19-21 Oakledge Park, Burlington VT

Mission

Eat by Northeast will strengthen Vermont’s local food movement by welcoming the entire community to a free, all-ages festival that:

  • raises an estimated $20,000 or more in donations to local food non-profits
  • educates entrepreneurs, families and gardeners on the business, preparation and cultivation of local food
  • celebrates our vibrant culinary tradition through fun gatherings at the peak of our abundant harvest

About

Presented by the Skinny Pancake and Higher Ground, ExNE (Eat by Northeast) is a FREE 3-day celebration of Vermont food and a fundraiser for local food organizations.

Come hungry, and bring the whole family!

Kid-friendly programming happens all day Friday and Saturday, including notionally-acclaimed kids performer Dan Zanes.

Eat delicious food

…at the peak of our season’s harvest from dozens of Vermont’s best and most authentic farmers, chefs and food producers.

Drink local beers and ciders

…at the Brewhaha on Friday and Saturday nights. Enjoy Vermont’s newest, smallest and closest breweries, and specialty beers from other regional brewing luminaries. Sip on Long Trail, Citizen Cider and Zero Gravity in the main beer area all weekend.

Long-Trail-Brewing

Listen and watch FREE live music all weekend long.

Friday evening will open with some high-energy bluegrass from Cabinet. The electrifying Josh Panda and the Hot Damned (“a true force of nature”–Dan Bolles, 7 Days Music Editor) will get the crowd clapping and stomping for the ultimate local supergroup, the Hug Your Farmer All-Star Band. HYF has sold out Higher Ground several times over, so get ready for a big party! Saturday night, the Felice Brothers bring their notoriously energetic and rootsy live performance to the main stage, with the Ballroom Thieves and The Burlington Bread Boys opening. The free music programming is a massive fundraiser, with 100% of donations going to the participating local food non-profits.

Learn at over 30 FREE seminars

…from the best entrepreneurs, chefs, and champions of the local food movement in Vermont. Three different tracks–Grow, Create, and Sell–help you take full advantage of everything our foodshed has to offer. Pick up business savvy from successful restaurateurs and food manufacturers, “make and take” food that will last all winter at one of the pickling and preserving classes, and learn how to eat locally on a budget.

Our goal is to raise over $20,000 for the Intervale, Slow Food Vermont, the Vermont Community Garden Network, and ECHO. 100% of your donations go to these organizations.

We look forward to seeing you in September, and remember, COME HUNGRY!
