“‘Gansett and a Hotdog” – Improv Night

Narragansett and a hot dog for just $5!

Enter to win Gansett gear at  Root 7 Deli in Shelburne , Crossroads in Waterbury

Every Thursday at Vermont Comedy Club is Improv Night, and that means it’s time for a ‘Gansett and a dog! The lounge opens at 5PM – snag a spot at the bar and sign up to win cool new gear from Narragansett. (VCC will draw one lucky winner on the final Thursday of each month.) Enjoy a cold Narragansett and a “Tasty Frank” for just 5 bucks.

There are two hilarious improv teams that perform on Thursdays: Napoleon and The Unmentionables. You can even order that sweet “‘Gansett and a Dog” deal in the showroom while you watch. These shows are fast-paced fun, and made up entirely on the spot! The 7pm show, “Life of the Party,” opens with a hilarious rap battle and features silly, “Whose Line is it, Anyway?” style comedy. The 8:30 show, “The Daily Grind,” uses an audience member’s unusual job as the basis for its free form comedy.

A great night out if you like “Whose Line is it, Anyway?”, Saturday Night Live, Key & Peele, etc.

Yes, there’s a full-time comedy venue in Vermont! In November 2015, Vermont Comedy Club opened its doors to the public for the first time. The space was built inside the old Armory building at 101 Main Street, Burlington (formerly Sh-Na-Na’s and Hunt’s). The space features an upscale lounge that offers creative cocktails, craft beer and wine, and tasty snacks (no ticket required). The beautiful, state-of-the-art showroom seats 160 people in cabaret style and offers full table service. Vermont Comedy Club presents standup & improv shows five nights a week featuring some of the best local, regional and national talent available. The club also boasts a small classroom, and offers classes and workshops in comedy for kids and adults year round.

How it Works

The lounge opens Tues-Sun at 5pm and no ticket is required, so come on in! When the showroom opens (generally 30 minutes prior to showtime), you will be escorted to a table and VCC’s friendly servers will take care of you for the duration of the show. There are no reserved seats – but if you arrive early, you’ll have better ones (and a greater chance of being seated with your party). Occasionally you may be seated at the same table with a few strangers – good for you; you’re making new friends!

VCC is an 18+ venue. ID is always required to purchase alcoholic beverages. Patrons younger than 18 may be admitted with their parent or legal guardian. Unless marked as “family-friendly,” shows may include objectionable content.
