CERTIFIED ORGANIC

COOPER MOUNTAIN

At Cooper Mountain we own and manage four vineyard sites scattered throughout the North Willamette Valley and that are certified organic and biodynamic®. The vines plantation dates range from 1978 to 2010. Upon these four vineyard sites we grow pinot gris, pinot blanc, tocai friulano, chardonnay and pinot noir amongst various vineyard blocks. Each vintage our winemaker assesses each lot and determines which blocks go into which bottlings. Gilles strives not make wine for the masses, but rather those seeking wines that have soul and are reflective of each passing vintage in the Willamette Valley. Wine is memory of land.

PRACTICING ORGANIC FARMING

  • BODEGAS FLACO TEMPRANILLO – Brilliant ruby-red. A highly perfumed nose evokes ripe red berries and floral pastilles, and a hint of white pepper lends a spicy touch. Plush, seamless and gently sweet, offering raspberry and cherry compote flavors that become more energetic on the back half. Emphatically fruity and supple in texture, finishing with just a hint of smooth, harmonious tannins.
  • IPSUM RUEDA – The whole wine-production process is based on the “modification-free extraction” system, with the purpose of respecting the characteristics of the grape varieties and the different plots of land at their best. In order to turn this philosophy to a practical reality, we use cutting-edge technologies such as night-time harvesting, cold pellicular maceration, native yeast fermentation, aging on lees and battnage, but we never forget our purpose of revealing our grapes and soil’s full unaltered potential, pursuing the best quality and special nature of our wine. Crisp, bright and fresh for spring!
  • TERRA ALTA LUDOVICUS – Deep red. Fresh red berry and candied rose scents are lent urgency by mineral and peppery spice notes. Juicy and incisive on the palate, offering gently sweet raspberry, cherry and spicecake flavors that demonstrate an appealing marriage of power and finesse.
  • HAYES VALLEY CHARDONNAY – Hayes Valley Chardonnay opens up with aromas of tropical fruits—pineapples and bananas. Pears and apples are also prevalent, with a hint of toasty oak. Flavors of baked apples, banana and vanilla carry through the palate, along with a creamy mouth feel and a hint of butter. Solid acidity makes this a great wine to pair with many dishes or to drink on its own. 38).
