Featured Wines

Decoy, Merlot (2014)
Region California, United States
Merlot

Since the inaugural vintage of our Decoy Napa Valley Red Wine almost a quarter century ago, Decoy has taken an important
place in the Duckhorn Wine Company family of wines. With a reputation for delivering great quality at a remarkable price,
Decoy has established a loyal following for its distinctive style, which emphasizes ready-upon-release wines that are capable
of expressing their full charm and complexity in their youth. Fruit for the Decoy program comes from a mix of Estate vineyards and top grower vineyards. “It starts with our Sonoma
County focus,” says Dana. “Whether it’s Pinot and Chardonnay from Carneros, Zinfandel from Dry Creek Valley or Bordeaux
varieties from our own Ridgeline and Brownell vineyards in Alexander Valley, Sonoma County offers a range of world-class
grapes.” To benefit from the diversity of Decoy’s great fruit sources, Dana and her team do as many as 150 individual
fermentations each vintage with many lots as small as 5 tons. From there, hands on practices like open-top punch downs
and lees stirring are applied. “There is an incredible amount of care that goes into these wines,” says Dana. “If you want to
achieve small-lot quality in your wines, you have to apply the same small-lot attention to detail, including hand-sorting, the
use of the finest coopers and French oak, and a commitment to artful blending.

Conundrum, 25th Anniversary Red (2014)

Region California, United States

Grapes Zinfandel, Petite Sirah

From our first vintage in 1989, we were determined to make a dramatically different white-wine blend that would surpass the
scope of single-varietal wines. Conundrum White has tantalized palates and turned traditional winemaking on its head for
over twenty years, and we are excited to be launching new Conundrum Red; yet another puzzling blend of varietals, coming together to form a harmonious, complex and delicious wine.

Bodega Catena Zapata, Catena Mendoza Chardonnay (2014)

Region Mendoza, Argentina
Grape Chardonnay
Appellation Mendoza

Laura Catena, great-granddaughter of winery founder Nicola Catena, has created a richly textured Chardonnay sourced and
blended from the family´s high-altitude vineyards in Lujan de Cuyo and Tupungato. Each vineyard is specifically
farmed in preparation for its role in the final blend. From the Agrelo (Lujan de Cuyo) Vineyard, the wine receives flavors of
ripe, honeyed tropical fruits while the cooler temperatures of high-altitude Villa Bastias (Tupungato) Vineyard contribute pear
and floral notes with racy acidity. The extreme climate and shallow, sandy soils with rocky sub-layer in Gualtallary
(Tupungato) Vineyard provides citrus flavors and flinty minerality. This combination of different vineyard components results
in a wine with heightened complexities and unique character that has natural balance, concentration and a distinct varietal
identity.

Francis Ford Coppola Winery, Monterey County Brut Blanc de Blancs Sofia

Region California, United States
Grapes Pinot Blanc, Riesling, Muscat

Mellow flavors of apples and pears are topped by a hint of citrus and honeysuckle. Elegant in character, this wine is lightly
textured and vibrant through the finish.
